Hadlock Field

The Sea Dogs play their home games at Hadlock Field in downtown Portland. The complex was once a high school stadium and underwent serious renovations for its opening on April 18, 1994. The park is named for Edson Hadlock Jr., the former baseball coach at Portland High School (1950-1978). It has a current capacity of 7,368 after undergoing four expansion projects since its initial renovation.

The “Maine Monster”, a replica of Fenway Park’s Green Monster, was built when the Sea Dogs began their relationship with the Red Sox in 2003. The ballpark is 315 feet deep in left field, 400 feet deep in dead center field and 330 feet in right field. The left field fence is 37 feet, the exact same height as Fenway’s Green Monster, and is painted a color called “Hadlock Green.” The park also has a miniature Citgo sign and an electronic scoreboard.
